Rebecca is a sophomore Biomedical Engineering major in Silliman College. She has previously served as the Features Editor of the magazine, and is passionate about finding new ways to make scientific information irresistible. In addition to her involvement in YSM, she plays the flute, dabbles in writing, and works with Yale’s new Engineering World Health chapter.
Chanthia is a sophomore in Davenport College. Still exploring various academic fields of interest, she loved taking the freshman Directed Studies humanities program. Having conducted research for a summer at the Yale School of Medicine, she has decided recently to pursue a MCDB major in the neurobiology track. She enjoys teaching philosophy and managing Splash and Sprout as a part of Splash at Yale’s admin team and works at Yale University Art Gallery as a STEM + Arts Intern. During the rest of her time at Yale, Chanthia hopes to continue painting and exploring her passion for the humanities as well as the sciences.
Naaman is a junior Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology major in Morse College. She has previously served on both the Business team and the previous Synapse Director of the magazine. In addition to being a total biology nerd, she is really interested in global health, particularly in the gender disparities related to access to care for non-communicable diseases. In her spare time, Naaman loves playing the saxophone and flute, playing lacrosse, and eating nutella.
Julia Rothchild is a sophomore from Ann Arbor, Michigan. In her spare time, she likes to hang out in Timothy Dwight College, play in the Yale Symphony Orchestra, and sing with Magevet.
Payal is a sophomore in Silliman College pursuing the neuroscience track in psychology. She’s really interested in making important science concepts accessible to the public, and thinks science writing and publications like YSM are the perfect way to close the gap. In addition to writing, she enjoys dance, food and television.
Andrew is a junior in Morse College studying Biomedical Engineering. He hails from Edmonton, Canada as an ambassador of hockey, poutine, and the metric system. Outside of YSM, he is involved with the Yale Medical Brigades, DEMOS, the Davenport Pops Orchestra, and various IM sports.

Kevin is a freshman in Ezra Stiles College and a prospective Humanities and Chemistry double major. He is a member of the Yale University Guild of Carillonneurs. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano, reading, and eating spicy food.

Ben is a sophomore in Berkeley College and a Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry major. In addition to working in the Yale Scientific, he conducts synthetic biology research as part of Yale iGEM and plays violin in the YSO. He currently studies host-pathogen interactions involved in Legionnaires’ disease in the lab of Professor Craig Roy.

Christina is a sophomore Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry major in Berkeley College. In addition to the YSM, she is involved with the YSO, HAPPY, YRP, and Demos.
Carrie is a junior in Morse College majoring in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry. Besides coming up with cool layouts for YSM, she is a student tech, plays clarinet for the Yale Concert Band, swims on the club team, and does research in the medical school investigating changes in neuron structure after spinal cord injuries. When not labbing or YSM-ing, Carrie enjoys playing pool, journaling, piano-ing, and eating mangos.
Aparna is a freshman in Trumbull College and a prospective Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry or Applied Mathematics major. In addition to being a part of Yale Scientific, she is involved with the Yale Daily News and volunteers with VITA.
Rachel Lawrence is a sophomore in Davenport college pursuing majors in Applied Mathematics and Biology. Previously a contributing artist for the Yale Scientific, Rachel is also involved with La Madrugada, the Davenport Pops Orchestra, and Splash at Yale. In her free time, Rachel enjoys math research, digital painting, and exploring rooftops.
Nicole is a prospective Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and Fine Arts double major in Saybrook College. Outside of academics, she volunteers at the Connecticut Hospice, takes shifts with Yale EMS, and does graphic design work. On her free time, Nicole enjoys hiking up East Rock and strolling through the Yale University Art Gallery.

Claudia is a sophomore in Ezra Stiles College. She is a Biomedical Engineering major researching in Professor Mark Reed’s lab. In addition to YSM, she writes for Rumpus and The Yale Record and is a part of the Yale College Council Science and Engineering Subcommittee.
Aurora is a sophomore in Morse College and a prospective Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry major. She has previously served as the Advertising Manager of the magazine. Outside of the YSM, she enjoys working in the lab, giving science tours, and dancing.
Elena is a freshman in Trumbull college and a prospective Computer Science and Mathematics major. In addition to working with YSM, she is also involved in Demos, research in Computational Biology and the Yale Art Gallery.
Adam is a sophomore in Morse College studying Computer Science and Molecular Biology. When not in training to become a certified EMT, Adam can be found on the fields with the Yale Club Soccer Team or watching a Miami Heat basketball game. He also loves to travel and has explored some really cool places, including Madagascar, Dubai, and Ireland.

Emma is a Canadian in Trumbull college planning to major in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. Passionate about encouraging interest in the sciences, her involvement in the YSM will involve leading the Magazine’s outreach to both New Haven students and the Yale undergraduate community. Emma is also involved with the Trumbull College Living History Project and St Thomas More Catholic Center’s Undergraduate Council.

Zach is a junior in Davenport and a Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry major. In addition to YSM and Synapse, he is involved with research at the Yale Medical School, Demos, and club snowboarding. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to music, practicing muay thai kickboxing, and playing bass guitar.
