INCLUSION

At the Yale Scientific Magazine, our staff believes that science thrives when it reflects the diversity of the communities it serves. We welcome students of all races, cultures, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, socioeconomic backgrounds, and abilities to join our team in connecting the joys of science to our broader community.

As Yale’s largest undergraduate science organization, we are committed to leveraging our voice and platform to foster a culture of inclusivity in science. This means highlighting stories that celebrate discovery while also acknowledging the inequities that persist among those who participate in science and those who benefit from it. We reject efforts that suppress research that uncovers injustice, instead embracing such work as vital to advancing both knowledge and equity.

Beyond writing, we aim to create a community where students feel supported in their curiosity and empowered to pursue bold ideas. We also work to ensure our magazine grows alongside our friends and peers in the city of New Haven by creating opportunities for local students, educators, and residents to engage with scientific discovery. We hope to inspire the next generation of scientists, writers, and leaders who will expand the reach and impact of science for the better.
